Landfill Liners

Cost-Effective Method for Lining Environmental Control and Water Conservation Facilities

Landfill Liners

A cost-effective method for lining environmental control and water conservation facilities is Geosynthetic Liners. Liners prevent leachate and waste liquid components from leaking from impoundments and subsequently entering and contaminating ground water. Liners can be used to contain water impoundment for safe potable water through the use of NSF 61 approved Geosynthetics.

Landfills can range in size from small to large. The side slopes length, width, and site conditions will determine the capacity the landfill can maintain.

Case Study: 40 West Landfill, Cell 1 Construction

The existing landfill had reached full capacity and had no more room for expansion. This resulted with the county purchasing a large amount of land and constructing a new landfill to receive trash. The project was an extensive undertaking because all facilities of the landfill had to be constructed prior to receiving trash.
