ThermaFab can provide primary and secondary containments using NSF 54 approved geosynthetics. If required for the application, monitoring and leachate collection systems can be incorporated. These containment systems are designed to prevent solids, liquids, or gases from entering the environment. Containment system application include solid waste landfills, under/above ground storage tanks, chemical storage or handling areas, electrical transformers, waste storage, and treatment lagoons.

Even with today's stringent regulations, there are many cost effective applications in construction for the use of geosynthetics, including silt curtains, turbidity curtains, soil remediation, and erosion control.

Case Study: Westvaco Chemical Division, Facility Improvements

The chemical division has existing above ground storage tanks with concrete secondary containment around them. The concrete had deteriorated over the years and was allowing leakage into the groundwater. The project required placing a secondary containment liner over the existing concrete.
